Dying Matters 'Starting the Conversation' - The First in a Series of Dying Matters Workshops
Tuesday 7th May 2024
12:30 pm to 1:30 pm
Acorn Suite, The Hospice of St Francis HP4 3GW
All Allied Health Professionals supporting people living with long term breathlessness who are keen to learn some practical tips and techniques. This may be a refresher session or an opportunity to learn new skills.
Who should attend:
Everyone and anyone whether staff member, volunteer, friend or colleague who can join us in person and wants to consider how dying matters to those around us at work and beyond.
Course Aims:
An opportunity to help people start talking about why dying matters at work and beyond.
Objectives:
- How might we recognise deterioration in those around us?
- What support might individuals need?
- What conversations might be important?
- What about money, funerals, legal issues?
- What about support for carers and those who are bereaved
We know from the carers’ work at the Hospice that having appropriate knowledge in these areas can be very helpful when supporting people if they become less well in the future. We also know that it tends to be better to think about these areas earlier rather than later.
