Course Content:

This 2 day virtual course will provide delegates with key communication strategies for managing difficult conversations they experience in their role.

Delivered online.

Small groups (maximum 6) delegates practice scenarios with professional actors playing different roles such as the patient or family member.  These scenarios may include:

  • Handling strong emotions
  • Difficult conversations with patients and families
  • Giving significant news to the patient and or family member
  • Introducing sensitive topics such as DNACPR conversations

Constructive feedback is provided throughout the role play allowing students to develop their skills in a safe environment.

It is essential delegates attend both days.

What have our delegates said...

"I can’t thank the facilitators, actors & other participants enough for such a rich & inspiring learning experience! It was genuinely one of the best courses I have ever attended – so powerful!"

The groups were small and so I did not feel overwhelmed

I have come away with more confidence in dealing and discussing issues surrounding palliative care, particularly the difficult part of talking about dying and what the patient's / carer's wishes are
