Who should attend:

Open to all Senior clinicians who support patients with complex pain and want to explore different approaches to its management. May be particularly suitable for GPs, hospital medics, hospice clinicians, community matrons, district nurses and clinical nurse specialists.

Course Aims:

To stimulate thought, using case based discussion, to reframe our management of pain

Objectives:

• To understand what pain is and why it is an individual experience
• To consider body, mind and meaning in understanding pain
• To discuss the evidence behind the medications we use and why medication may not be working
• To consider ways to reframe pain by working through case based examples
