The defining strength of Marshalswick Owned is its close-knit community. The Hospice’s St Albans charity shop has a loyal customer base who visit weekly, attracted by the steady flow of new donations, unique events and the shop’s reputation for beautifully curated window displays.

With a staff of 50+ volunteers (including 23 Duke of Edinburgh students), the team stays playful and trend aware – whether preparing Traitors-themed mannequins or tables stacked high with blocks for National Lego Day. This translates into an inviting space and increased footfall, with the shop recording a 9% sales increase since 2024.

Another calendar staple is ‘Fizz & Style with Wisdom’ which has become one of Marshalswick’s most exciting and in demand evenings (held in March and September). Led by local fashion consultant Lisa Wisdom, the event features trend boards and a curated rail of high-quality donated pieces, offering exclusive first access to standout items.

The event promises expert fashion advice as well as a welcoming, community feel where guests can chat, shop and make new friends. With prosecco, a raffle supported by local shops and relaxed after hours shopping, the evening blends style, social connection and fundraising into a uniquely uplifting occasion.
