A few of the five star reviews from Google

What a wonderful shop! The way it's designed, maintained, run and the good they sell are perfect in harmony. Perhaps the best charity shop in the world!

Delightful staff so grateful for donations and a bustling store with many clients shopping. Excellent well stocked shop with lots of choice.

Lovely place. It is a joy to shop here. It's like a boutique shop. So much choice and the window and shop displays are immaculate and well designed. Highly recommended.

Great used furniture shop, with carefully selected quality pieces. A new concept in charity stores, which is really lovely.

A very nice shop, selling mostly pre-owned items, including home wares, clothing, shoes, books and other items. Definitely worth a visit.

Why The Hospice of St Francis...?

Feedback from current Hospice Shop Managers:

“Everyday is different. The job is fun and unpredictable! Team spirit is high amongst staff and volunteers creating an exciting environment to work in. It's a very creative environment allowing your ideas to be readily explored. Achieving good sales figures and therefore profits is very rewarding and directly helps towards hospice care."

"The Hospice is a caring employer as well as an employer that provides care. I love working with a team of volunteers that are motivated by the same things as I am. I love the mix and variety of the role."

"No two days are the same. You know you are doing you bit to help raise funds while also helping the local community. The job is challenging but also rewarding when you see the results in the till. I love doing displays and chatting to the customers. The Hospice look after their staff. After 11 years, I still never wake up thinking I don't want to go to work, which I don't think many people would say about other retail."

Feedback from current Shop Volunteers:

"I love working with all the managers and other volunteers within the shop, as they are all so kind, helpful and have been supportive and welcoming to me since I started. It always feels like I am among friends. I just like being there. I have a laugh with either work colleagues or members of the public."

Andy

"I really love the sense of comradery we have as a team and I try to inspire as many of my friends to get involved too as it’s so rewarding. One of the perks, is definitely a nice cup of coffee after a hard morning moving furniture! I am very pleased to be part of a great team of volunteers because it makes me feel like I am giving something back to the local community."
