After studying catering at Central Bedfordshire College, Aaron spent seven years working as a pastry chef at Luton Hoo Hotel, refining his skills and discovering a deep-rooted love for creating desserts. Seeking a new challenge, he looked beyond a corporate setting and found himself drawn towards a healthcare environment – a change that has already proved to be a great fit.
Cooking has always played a massive part in Aaron’s life. He was inspired by time spent in the kitchen with his mum from a young age and often lent a hand with the family’s traditional Sunday lunches. These days, desserts are his passion with a classic treacle tart topping his list of favourites.
At the Hospice, Aaron gets in early to help prepare everything from breakfast through to lunch, and also supper when on the late shift. Together with the kitchen team, he ensures that a range of nutritious food is always available for patients, guests and staff. As Aaron says, “It’s a very nice place to work – the atmosphere is really friendly and there’s a super team around me.”
Outside of work, Aaron enjoys hiking, painting models and playing cards with his friends. We’re very pleased to have him join the Hospice family.
