Celebrating Two Years of our Heart Failure Support Group

“You feel very alone when you’re diagnosed, but this group makes you feel like you’re not the only one”

Two years ago, we launched our new Heart Failure Support Group – and we’re so proud of the way that it’s become a source of support, education and community for those who need it.

Offering a relaxed, supportive space for people living with heart failure, the group regularly welcomes guest speakers who discuss everything from medications and cardiac rehab to managing symptoms.

Attendees are invited to share their personal challenges, experiences and coping techniques which creates an environment where they can learn from one another as well as from healthcare professionals.

Alexis, from Hemel Hempstead, has attended the group since it launched and describes it as a breath of fresh air. “You feel very alone when you’re diagnosed, but this group makes you feel like you’re not the only one,” Alexis said. “It’s such a nice, calm place to come and it’s just been so supportive. I’d encourage more people to come and try it.”

As we approach the group’s second anniversary, we’re keen to reach more people who might benefit from attending. So please share the details if you know someone living with heart failure.
