On 24th June, The Hospice of St Francis will launch its first ever music festival in Berkhamsted. Summer Sound Fest will feature popular local bands, playing everything from folk to jazz, classic rock, bluegrass and Afro-inspired beats.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity to expose your children to new music, and to dance the day away in a relaxed setting all for a good cause,” said Kate Grigg, Director of Fundraising at The Hospice of St Francis.

The Hospice intends the festival to be family-friendly so there will be children’s activities and a bouncy castle, as well as a range of food trucks and stalls.

Paul Durham, who will perform at the festival with the Monday Mojos said, “Get in the mood for dancing. We play classic rock and roll, country and blues standards. We want people to enjoy and move with the music.”

Festival goers can expect to hear a wide-variety of musical styles. Not least of all “an explosion of feel-good African music, song and dance” from the T Bone Afrika All Stars. Band leader, Thabani, said, “We want to reach everybody and make sure the whole family can enjoy our performance. We’ll be spreading the good vibes of our musical heritage with a rich sumptuous sound.”

Ellen Bigmore (Head of HR) from Safran shares, “The Safran Electrical & Power UK team in Pitstone are delighted and proud to be sponsoring the Summer Sound Fest, as part of our charity partnership supporting The Hospice of St Francis. Our charitable partnership is a key element of our Corporate Social Responsibility strategy to support and give back to our local community and we were sure the Summer Sound Fest will be a great event for everyone to enjoy, whilst raising vital funds for the fantastic work that the Hospice does.”
