Become a Trustee at The Hospice of St Francis

The Hospice of St Francis is seeking a committed, experienced individual to join our Board of Trustees and support our mission of providing outstanding palliative and end-of-life care to local people and their families.

We are specifically interested in applications from senior qualified health or social care professionals, particularly with experience in long term conditions or frailty.

This Trustee will bring strategic clinical insight, and offer constructive challenge based on a strong understanding of, and connections with, the wider health and care system. Experience of system leadership and partnership working, healthcare transformation and service redesign would be advantageous.

Applications are welcome from individuals with senior healthcare management experience gained within the NHS, charitable sector, independent health and care sector, or other commercial care settings.

Working collectively with fellow Trustees, you will play a vital role in safeguarding the Hospice's charitable purpose, shaping strategic direction, overseeing organisational performance, risk and financial sustainability, and providing support and constructive challenge to the Chief Executive and Executive Team.

We welcome applications from individuals who can demonstrate sound judgement, strategic insight, personal integrity and the ability to collaborate effectively with people at all levels of the organisation.

Trustees are expected to attend quarterly Board meetings, participate in up to two Board development days each year, and serve on up to two Board committees. Appointments are normally made for an initial four-year term, with the opportunity to serve a second term by mutual agreement.

This is an opportunity to use your skills, experience and professional networks to make a lasting difference to the lives of local people and families facing life-limiting illness.

The Hospice of St Francis is committed to building a diverse, inclusive and representative Board. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives.

For an informal discussion, or to find out more please contact Jenny Jenkins (Trustee) jenny.jenkins@stfrancis.org.uk.  To contact HR please email recruitment@stfrancis.org.uk
