“I’m an Occupational Therapist on the Hospice’s community team. I’m also a lecturer with our education team, co-leading the Hospice’s Allied Health Professional (AHP) programme with our Physiotherapy Lecturer, Manisha Cook. I think it’s important that educators are practicing what they’re teaching.

In our education sessions, we try to give participants the skills to help patients manage symptoms and live a good quality of life. People come from other hospices and organisations around the country, as well as from within our hospice, to gain the knowledge, skills and confidence to do their jobs well.

We provide a lot of bespoke training which brings in extra income for the Hospice. Our education team is well known for offering good quality, best-practice training. Simple changes can have a massive impact on a patient’s quality of life, and we share case studies illustrating how patients can use these strategies effectively.
