6 month Fixed Term Contract
Salary Band 6 + Benefits
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced physiotherapist to join our multi-disciplinary team at The Hospice of St Francis, Berkhamsted to contribute to our rehabilitation and wellbeing services for both patients and carers in the West Herts area. This post is a 6 month fixed term contract. Some weekend working may be required.
The successful candidate will be part of the multi-disciplinary team at The Hospice of St Francis and will also be required to work closely with other care providers. Clinically you will be responsible for the assessment, clinical reasoning and treatment of a mixed caseload of patients, including neurology, respiratory, cardiac and cancer diagnoses, primarily within the Inpatient Unit but you may also be required to support the rehabilitation service within The Spring Centre, our Health and Wellbeing Centre and support our patients within the community. We provide a high quality service to those diagnosed with a life limiting condition and therefore previous experience of working with these patient groups is essential along with some palliative care experience would be desirable but not essential.
Candidates should be passionate about promoting a rehabilitation model which develops/supports self-management to optimise quality of life and function after diagnosis of a potentially life limiting illness. Applicants should be able to demonstrate an understanding of palliative care, have good communication skills, and the ability to work as part of a team.
The Hospice of St Francis provides excellent opportunities for professional development and clinical supervision.
You should be a qualified Chartered Physiotherapist and have current registration with HCPC.
Please note the successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced level DBS check.
