On Saturday 18 November, St Albans Choral Society will perform Handel’s Messiah along with Orchestra Nova and four fantastic soloists: Elinor Rolfe Johnson, Rebecca Afonwy-Jones, Christopher Bowen and Alexander Ashworth under the direction of music director, George Vass. A truly moving re-telling of the life of Christ in the run up to Christmas, ‘Messiah’ was first performed in April 1741 in Dublin and has become one of the best-known choral works in Western music.

St Albans Choral Society
is one of the leading large amateur choirs in Hertfordshire, singing to a high standard in beautiful concert venues. They perform at least four concerts a year, including one in St Albans Abbey, with superb professional soloists and orchestras.
