WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

Introductory level workshop for patient-facing staff and volunteers who encounter patients experiencing fear and anxiety

COURSE CONTENT

At the end of this introductory level workshop candidates will be able to:

  • Describe how to recognise fear and anxiety
  • Identify communication skills that can be utilised to support patients with anxiety (for example: empathy, active listening, touch)
  • Practice some relaxation strategies that can be taught to people experiencing anxiety
  • Identify when to seek level 2+ support
  • Describe the impact of supporting people with anxiety: self-care and reflection
