Pro dogs are delighted to offer a K9 First Aid course with Martin Proctor - who was the leading K9 First Aid Instructor for the Metropolitan Police.

The day is split into three modules and you will be given a full course certificate (valid for 2 years), aide memoirs and an information CD and booklet.

Module 1 

Purpose of 1st aid, 1st actions at a scene - scene assessment, health and safety around injured dogs, primary assessment, ABC of care, when and how to use CPR (using mannequins), practicing mouth to snout - this is great fun! Recovery position, yes there is one for a dog, also finding a pulse, breathing rate etc.

Module 2 (lots of hands on)

1st Aid kits, bleeding - various, wounds/injuries/cuts, shock, fractures, spinal injuries, car accidents, burns, stress

 ​Module 3

Heat stroke, stomach torsion, chocking, moving/transporting an injured dog, poison, bites/stings, ticks, grass seeds
