Wondering how to raise your sponsorship? See how Mary did it.

Our lovely trekker, Mary Fletcher, has just returned from Trekking India and here’s how she raised her sponsorship.

I set up an on-line JustGiving website which raised £575.00 from my friends I organised a quiz night. I went to my local cricket club and they volunteered the venue for free, as their contribution to the Hospice.

I wrote to M&S, Sainsbury’s and Tesco to see if they would each donate a raffle prize – and they all did. I also went to my local shops and they all sponsored me. In total I raised £1000.00 from this event.

I also organised a Curry Lunch with a glass of wine and held a raffle - I invited 12 people and raised £260.00 I organised a few coffee mornings to help my fundraising. Some my local friends popped in to my first coffee morning and I raised £160. At my second coffee morning I organised a raffle, made marmalade, jam and shortbread which all sold.

This raised £120.00 I gave my yoga group, my keep fit group and also my gym group tubes of Smarties - they ate the Smarties then filled the tubes with 20p's - each tube holds £12.00! My local café agreed that I could display a Photo of myself and an explanation of my challenge along with a Hospice Collection box - this raised £40.00 Oh and not forgetting the support of my family, who all donated for my challenge.

Regards Mary Fletcher
