Terry & Mim Give in Celebration for Anniversary

GIVE TO THE HOSPICE OF ST FRANCIS TO CELEBRATE YOUR ANNIVERSARY

Could you ask your friends and family to donate to The Hospice of St Francis instead of giving gifts for your anniversary this year?

Your donation will help our team of highly trained doctors and nurses and a range of other professionals including our supportive care team, chaplain, complementary therapists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, catering team and volunteers to ensure the best experience is possible for our patients and those close to them.

Fantastic Fundraiser Story

‘When you have special occasion to celebrate it is an opportunity to help others’ says Mim Mallord, who with Terry, her husband of 40 years, chose to support The Hospice of St Francis at their Ruby Wedding Anniversary afternoon tea party.

Having worked at the Hospice as a member of staff and now as a volunteer, Mim knows very well the difference the Hospice's care makes to patients and their families. When Mim was diagnosed with a brain tumour in addition to having breast cancer, she and Terry made the decision not to focus on ill health but to be more outgoing and enjoy the good things in life. Their anniversary celebration with loved ones gave them an opportunity to do just that and including fundraising for the Hospice really gave them a boost.  ‘When you are able to turn around difficult situations to benefit other people it makes you feel 100% better.”

Not wanting their guests to feel obliged to donate they placed some In Celebration donation envelopes by the cake, which raised a fantastic total of £456.

Mim and Terry were married on 3rd July 1976 in Wattisham in Suffolk.
