This March Nikki Wenham will not only be flying in a plane for the first time ever, but she will also be jumping out of it!
The daring 29-year-old from Hemel Hempstead, is taking part in a sponsored tandem skydive to say thank you to the Hospice for the care and support we have given her and her family since they lost her dad, 69-year-old Nigel to lung cancer.
Nikki’s fundraising efforts - including a coffee morning - have already raised more than £1,200 and her employer, Robert Dyas, has pledged a further £200 once she's completed her skydive.
Nikki (pictured below with our Challenge Events Fundraiser Caroline Lee and fellow skydiver Susie Downie-Lipscombe) admits that the prospect of jumping out of a plane at 13,000ft may well set her nerves jangling. “I’m feeling excited at the moment but on the day I'll probably be a bit nervous,” she says.
