Margie’s Kitsch-en Art

I started work as a Health Care Assistant at The Hospice of St Francis a year ago and love it. In a previous life, pre-children, I trained as a registered nurse specialising in Paediatrics and Ophthalmics.

Two years ago I completed a degree in Textiles and Surface Design to fulfil my artistic side. Shortly, I will start working in the Spring Centre at the Hospice, facilitating out-patients to express themselves through Art. I produced a lot of my work at Boden Press in Chesham. On the 31st March 2014, for 1 week, I held an exhibition of my art at the Upstairs Gallery in Berkhamsted with 20% of the proceeds going to the Hospice of St Francis.

I was delighted with the response and support from friends and the community. I made £522.40 for the Hospice. I look forward to bringing more art into the in-patient unit as I feel it enriches lives and can only be a positive experience for patients and their carers. My prints are now hanging in the art space upstairs in 'HERE' in Berkhamsted.
