Boxmoor Beat are thrilled to donate over £984.00 to the Hospice on behalf of all the wonderful dancers who supported the recent reunion dance evening on Monday 29th April 2019.
From 2001 to 2016 members of the Boxmoor Beat dance club enjoyed modern jive lessons on Monday evenings at the Boxmoor Playhouse in Hemel Hempstead. It was a very popular local social event where people would meet friends, take part in a dance class and then dance away the rest of the evening. The club also organised charity events, some of which raised funds for The Hospice of St Francis, band nights, weekends away and dance workshops.
Following numerous requests for a reunion dance night some of the original organisers, Bob, Colin, Karen, Robert, Terry, and Val, got together and agreed to organise the event as a charity fundraiser and that the profits from the evening would be donated to a local charity. The Hospice of St Francis was unaminously nominated to receive the donation.
On Monday 29th April the Boxmoor Beat Reunion Dance took place and each club member kindly made an £8 donation on arrival at the hall. We were thrilled to welcome so many dancers back to the Boxmoor Playhouse, the hall was packed full of happy faces as people met up with friends they often hadn’t seen for years. It was an amazing, happy evening and everyone left saying how enjoyable it had been.
Boxmoor Beat would like to say an enormous ‘thank you’ to everyone who attended the event and made a donation on the evening, helping us raise much needed funds for The Hospice.
Thank you Boxmoor Beat for organising a fun and fantastic event and for supporting the Hospice. We love what we do and love your support too!
