Local football club Berkhamsted Athletic raised over £900 for The Hospice of St Francis, with a charity football match held at Ashlyns School and a charity night held at The Goat pub in Berkhamsted.
Berkhamsted Athletic FC manager Paul Toms organised the events to raise money for the hospice that have provided services and support to his wife Emily Toms over the last year since her diagnosis of breast cancer. A cause that is close to his heart Paul wanted to do something to help.
The football match was held against a rival team Berkhamsted Tornadoes, the final score was: Berkhamsted Athletic 0 Berkhamsted Tornadoes 1
Berkhamsted Athletic FC Charity DayFurther to the football match the club held its presentation evening at The Goat who donated the proceeds of the food sold to The Hospice.
Also Comedian Glen Maney gave up his time to do a quick stand up show.
Donated raffle prizes, raised a few hundred pounds. With some lucky winners receiving meals for two at exclusive London restaurants.
