"The experience has been one of the most intense, painful and emotionally rewarding things I’ve ever done and to boot you’ve helped me raise £1400 for two great charities" - Andy Welch.
On the 15th September Andy Welch took on Ironman Wales, recognised as one of the toughest Ironman courses in the world; swimming in the Celtic Sea and ascending 1000’s and 1000’s of meters in both the bike and the run stages of the race. Ironman Wales race is an endurance triathlon consisting of a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bicycle ride and a hilly 26.22-mile marathon, raced in that order and without a break.
Andy completed it in a staggering 13 hours and 33 minutes and placed 800th out of 2300 competitors! Well done Andy and thank you for raising much needed funds for The Hospice of St Francis. #WeLoveYourSupport
