Hot off the cat walk - Hospice celebrates 40 years in style!

03 September 2019

Calling all fashion lovers! The Hospice of St Francis is to host a special ‘40 Years of Fashion’ Show,  reflecting on the last four decades of catwalk trends as it marks its own 40th birthday.

The Show at Shendish Manor, Apsley, on September 25th, is one of the key events taking place this year to mark The Hospice of St Francis’s 40th birthday and it promises to be a great night out of sophistication, style, shoulder pads and a flurry of sequins.

Sarah Coles, Head of Trading at the Hospice says, “The Fashion Show is the perfect event to showcase the fantastic clothing we sell in our charity shops!”

“Not only are our shops a destination for some stylish bargains, charity shops save over 300,000 tonnes of textiles from landfill each year. It will be a stylish and fun evening with the opportunity to re-visit some of the fashion highlights of the last four decades and also to grab a stylish bargain.”

All the clothes will be modelled by Hospice staff and volunteers; from nurses and shop managers to fundraisers and even the Hospice’s CEO, Kate Phipps- Wiltshire. After the show all the clothes will be on sale and guests will have the opportunity to browse the fashion rails and take advantage of the charity’s ‘pop up’ shop selling jewellery, shoes and handbags.

There will also be the chance to win one of 40 fantastic raffle prizes.

Tickets for the event priced £15 are available from Hospice shops and on its website at stfrancis.org.uk/fashion-show. There are also a limited number of VIP tickets, priced £25, available on the website only, which include a front row seat and a gorgeous beauty product goody bag kindly donated by beauty brand Copra.

£10 from every ticket sold will support the work of the Hospice, fortifying the Berkhamsted-based charity for the next 40 years to help over 2,000 people a year across West Herts and South Bucks to live their precious lives well.

Doors open from 7pm and free parking will be available onsite. To find out more about the Hospice, visit stfrancis.org.uk or follow the charity on Twitter @hospicstfrancis or Facebook: facebook.com/thehospiceofstfrancis
