Ensure that your loved ones are taken care of and support The Hospice of St Francis this September by writing or amending your Will as part of the Hospice’s Make a Will Month.
During Make a Will Month, participating local solicitors will kindly waive their usual fees in return for a donation to The Hospice of St Francis so that they can continue to help over 2,000 local people to live their precious lives well. Last year, over 100 people took part and raised more than £21,000.
This year you can write or update a Will for a suggested donation of £140 for a single will or £200 for a joint/mirror will, at participating solicitors in Berkhamsted, Tring, Amersham, Chesham, Harpenden and St Albans.
Rachel Heath, describes her experience of taking part in last year’s Make a Will Month, “We wanted to amend our wills and this seemed a perfect opportunity to do so, and give a donation to support the Hospice.”
“It was very efficiently done and only took two visits with the solicitor; one meeting to discuss the amendments and the second to sign it.”
Angela Marr, from old Amersham, volunteers regularly at the Hospice and is supporting the fundraising team in the organisation of this year’s campaign. She explains her reasons for taking part.
“I’ve done it for three or four years now. Each year you can be reassured that you can make the little tweaks. It actually makes you want to write one because it is making a difference to people’s lives.
“I am aware of the Hospices’ care as my late husband Ben Marr spent six days at the Hospice before he died seven years ago. I remember him saying it was as though he was in a 5 star hotel.” She continues, “There’s love, care and understanding at the Hospice. You can laugh in there. You can feel relaxed.”
