Get Your Tribe Together for the Mud Pack Challenge

20 August 2019

It’s back! The legendary Mud Pack Challenge in the stunning grounds of the historic Ashridge House supporting The Hospice of St Francis on the morning of 13th October.

James Harris MP-2 res

Recruits! What are you waiting for??! Everyone is welcome but teamwork will help you tackle the tricky yet fun obstacles and mountains of mud so rally your work colleagues (great for team away days), badger your friends and prepare for some jovial rivalry to take on the five, or tough 10, mile course together!

Escape the ordinary for an afternoon of gloriously mud-filled fun! The event is open to anyone who’s up for the challenge, and willing to get muddy for a good cause!

Over 700 people joined us in the 2018, raising a phenomenal £90k for the Hospice. This year it is hoped even more people will sign up, embracing team spirit and working together to overcome the various obstacles in the muddy fundraiser.

One team from Berkhamsted, led by Cheryl Lyon has recruited 15 of her friends already. She explains why they participate saying, “We’ve signed up as the Muddy Mares for the fourth year running because Mud Pack is such a laugh,”

“As a group we’re at all levels of fitness but we all come together to take part - there’s something about working together as a team and getting covered in mud that’s just so hilarious and different from our usual routines!”

Cheryl continues, “For an hour or two, it’s about forgetting about the stresses of everyday life, working together, doing something for a good cause and having fun! We laugh about it all year and always enjoy our reward of a post-event pub meal in the evening. If you’re thinking about signing up, I’d say go for it, you won’t regret it!”

Kate Grigg, Head of Events gives her, and all would-be competitors, words of encouragement, “The Mud Pack Challenge is a unique event where we guarantee fun, lasting memories and, of course, mud.

“With every step taken and every penny raised, you will be helping to fortify the Hospice, allowing us to continue to support more local people and their families to live their precious lives well.

Sign up today at www.stfrancis.org.uk/mudpack or call 01442 859555 to talk to one of our fundraising team. See you in October! We Love Your Support!
