Determined not to be defeated by the snow, The Hospice of St Francis has rallied the troops and rescheduled its 10th annual Santa Dash for Sunday 17th December.
The festive fundraiser was cancelled last week after organisers took the decision to call off the event over safety concerns following heavy snowfall, which covered the 2.5 mile route.
The dash will now go ahead next Sunday at the same time, same place – 10am Riverside, Hemel Hempstead.
Nicky Maxwell-Braithwaite, Events Fundraiser at the Hospice, said: “We were disappointed to have to cancel Santa Dash last week, especially as this year we are celebrating a decade of dashing. But, determined not to be defeated by the snow, we’ve rallied the troops, Santa’s doing a detour to be with us and our festive fundraiser is once again GO GO GO!! (HO HO HO!!)
“More than 450 Santas have signed up for the event and we know many of them have been hard at work fundraising for us. We hope as many of our original Santas as possible will be able to join our sea of super Santas to make our 10th anniversary all the more special.”
There are 100 extra places available for additional friends and family who want to join in the fun to sign up on the day. Just come along to Riverside from 9am and get set to paint the town red.
