The Why Factor - The BBC World Service

13 March 2017

The Hospice had a visit recently from the BBC’s World Service, who did pre-recorded interviews with two members of our nursing team, our creative therapist, a patient staying in our Inpatient Unit, and our Knit and Natter group for a programme about ‘hands.’

There is something satisfying about working with our hands. Whether it is making something, fixing something or caring for someone, tactile skills are rewarding and valuable. Maria Margaronis asks what it is about working with our hands that make us so fundamentally human.

The broadcast went out last Friday evening (10 March) and we made a whole FIVE minutes of the 18-minute transmission (starting 6 mins 35 seconds in), which is available to listen again or download here
