Lady Dione, The Countess of Verulam CG

Lady Verulam succeeded Sir Simon Bowes-Lyon as the Lord-Lieutenant of Hertfordshire in June 2007. She retired from the role in August 2017 but continues as a Deputy Lieutenant. She is a liveryman of The Goldsmiths’ Company.

She was High Sheriff of Hertfordshire in 2002/3. She co-chaired Alban in Glory and Alban 2000 and has served on various National Trust Committees and on the Resources Acceptance in Lieu of Tax Panel.

As an artist, she has undertaken various stencilling commissions including at Cliveden and Hambleton Hall, several churches and for private clients and decorators. In 1980 she was a co-founder of Verona Stencilling.

She is married to the Earl of Verulam and they have four grown-up children and ten grandchildren.
