Anne Adams and her book of poetry, Tracing The Rainbow

A Berkhamsted poet has penned a volume of verse in aid of the Hospice of St Francis.
Anne Adams, of Winston Gardens, has been a volunteer at the hospice for 18 months and wanted to do something to help the new building project.

She said: "I asked myself what I could do for the appeal. I used to write poetry at school and then in about 1997 I started again writing sonnets and so on and I thought it would be something I could give."

Anne, who used to teach at Egerton Rothesay School,
brought together a collection of some of her works and had it published in Chesham.

She said: "It's entitled Tracing the Rainbow and I hope it will make a
nice gift book. It is recognised by the hospice that poetry has therapeutic benefits and makes people think about life. I put together poems that would give joy and be up lifting. "I think the whole hospice movement is fantastic and the work they do at St Francis is wonderful and the effect it has on people is wonderful. I have great admiration for everyone who works there. "If I ever have to go into a hospice, and let's hope I don't, it would be my dream to go to St Francis as it would be the best care I could have anywhere."

Anne's book is out next week and is available from the Hospice of St Francis shops priced £5.
