Marshallers United are the first winners of the Denise Russell Chanty Cup.
A charity football match has raised around £1,000 for the Hospice of St Francis.
The fundraising event was in memory of Denise Russell, a young Hemel Hempstead mother who passed away in February after spending the last few months of her life raising money for cancer research.
Husband, Stephen Russell, vowed to keep up the charitable work.
He said: "We were going to have a game at work and charge everyone £5 each and a friend said we should make it a bit bigger.
We spoke to Dave Boggins at Hemel Hempstead Football Club who gave us free use of the venue and it just got massive from there."
Much of the organisation was carried put by Stephen's friend, Adam Muir, who helped organise cups and programmes for the event.
The day attracted around 100 people to see Marshallers United become the first winners of the Denise Russell Charity Cup.
Boys and girls from the under 10s, 11s and 12s teams provided assistance as ball boys, and Stephen and Denise's children Max and Maddison were mascots for the day.
Stephen said: "I am in debt to Adam and all of the players, officials, supporters and friends who turned up and were involved to raise such a fab amount of money."
In the final few months of her life Denise raised £9,500 for Mount Vernon Hospital and the Hospice of St Francis through making and selling bandannas and holding a special party.
Stephen added: "I promised Denise I would carry on and that's what I'm doing. I will keep it going."
