AHEAD OF THE GAME: Toni and Guy stylist Dydney giving the hospice's Louise Cecil a charitable crop at the Hemel hempstead salon this week.
If you fancy a fashionable trim while doing your bit for the Hospice of St Francis, make your way down to Toni and Guy in Hemel Hempstead on Sunday April 2. The Marlowes-based hair salon will be hosting its own Dig Deep event with a day of cuts, blow drys and tints, all proceeds going straight to the hospice.
Manager Alastair Gourley said the salon team had been following the progress of the Dig Deep campaign with interest.
He said: "There seems to be so much effort going into the hospice from the community. Two members of staff here have lost people to terminal diseases so we really wanted to help the hospice in our own way."
Between 10am and 2.30pm on the Sunday the salon will be open with reduced rates and are hoping to attract as many customers as possible.
Alastair added: "We're going to have minimum amounts, but things like a cut and blow dry will be down to a minimum of £25 from £45 and a blow dry will be £10.
"We are doing our best to ensure that as many people as possible can come along. Every single penny raised will be going to the hospice."

Haresfoot School has also been showing its support for the Hospice raising £818 to help the Dig Deep campaign.
The school's association, the HSA, has chosen the hospice as its charity of the year and the first event organised was a Bunco evening.
Joint Chair of the HSA Debbie Roberts explained: "It's a very fast moving dice game and it's a lot of fun! We also held a raffle and had a fish and chip meal.
"We chose the hospice because one of our members is a volunteer there. We will be doing other events during the year and the money we raise will go to them and to the HSA."
The school has already had visits from representatives of the hospice to explain the work done there.
