Martin the zebra, the stripy supporter of the Hospice of St Francis, sits up straight and pays attention when addressed by Mayor of Dacorum Catherine Appleby, as, indeed he should.
What was being said will never be known but evidently the Mayor found it funny.
The soft toy was donated to the Hospice and has already travelled far and wide with supporters to raise money for the charity.
Perhaps Martin was discussing the forthcoming coffee morning which the Mayor has arranged to raise much needed funds for the Hospice, her charity.
It will take place in the Gade and Bulbourne Rooms at the Civic Centre in Hemel Hempstead from 10.30am to 12.30pm on Friday, March 23, and the admission price of £2 at the door will include coffee and biscuits.
Additionally there will be a raffle and a stall for home made cakes, jams and preserves prepared and donated by the Sugar Craft Ladies, and for sale at very reasonable prices.
Other items will be sold at the Hospice stall and all proceeds will go to the Hospice.
Martin the Zebra, was donated to the Hospice by Emma aged 14, daughter of the Hospice fund raiser Sally Phipps.
