FREE FALLING: above, Elena takes to the skies. Below - getting the thumbs up before the jump.
Whether it's plunging through the air with a parachute or running 10km round the streets of London, Elena Williams of Tring has taken the challenge for the Hospice of St Francis.
Elena, of Fields End, works in the administration department at the hospice as a fundraiser and decided she wanted to do her bit to help the Dig Deep campaign.
She said: "I've been at the hospice for about two years and in that time they have helped me through some problems so I wanted to give something back.
"I thought this would be a good way. I know I can run and I can throw myself out of a plane!
"The jump was fantastic, just fabulous.
"It's something I have wanted to do for a long time and when the fundraising manager here at the hospice was looking for people to jump I said yes.
"I was really scared on the day but it was too late to go back once I was in the plane."
Elena also took part in the London 10km run in July and so far for both events has brought in £500 towards the Dig Deep campaign.
She said: "I set myself two challenges for this year and hopefully I will be able to raise a bit more.
"I'm looking forward to moving into the new hospice building, it will be a lot better. There will be a lot more room for patients to come and stay with us and it's in lovely surroundings.
"I'd encourage other people to try and organise something for the hospice. It's hard work but if you can do anything; try and help us raise more money."
