Dacorum's Mayor will take on a fine wine challenge next month in aid of the Hospice of St Francis.
Cllr Catherine Appleby will set off for France on November 12 as part of this year's Beaujolais-Champagne Challenge.
Cllr Appleby said: "I first did it in 2002 when I was mayor. I really enjoyed it. It's great fun and as I'm half French I don't have a problem with the language!"
The challenge is organised by the lain Rennie Hospice at Home with people taking part raising money for their chosen charities.
Utilising a SAAB estate sponsored by Viking SAAB in Watford, Cllr Appleby will travel to the Beaujolais and Champagne area of France to pick up wine from some of the country's top wine producers.
Cllr Appleby added: "It's great experience.
"It all starts at midnight on Sunday with an overnight drive once the Beaujolais is released and then it's a question of getting from A to B in the shortest possible mileage."
The wines start at £7 per bottle with an average donation of £3.50 per bottle going to the Hospice of St Francis.
Among the selection is a 2002 Fleurie at £12, a 2003 Pouilly Fuisse at £14 and champagnes starting from £15 per bottle.
Cllr Appleby, who is hoping to get as many orders as possible, said: "You can order a case or just one bottle for the Christmas table.
"It is good wine and certainly at the moment they are drinking last year's Beaujolais which was superb.
"I'm supporting the Hospice of St Francis with its new build so I want to encourage as many people as possible to put orders in."
Wines need to be ordered as soon as possible before stocks run out.
For a full list of wines or to place your order contact Elvira MacCrimmon on 01442 869550 or you can email her at elvira.maccrimmon@stfrancis.org.uk
You can also send a donation to the hospice and for every £5 received your name is entered into a draw to win a case of champagne.
