Hot and bothered about charity walk
(Gazette 14/11/2007)

The heat is on for The Gazette's reporter, Louisa Felton, as she prepares to walk over hot coals for the Hospice of St Francis.
She said: "After agreeing to walk across red hot coals at a temperature of 800 de¬grees Fahrenheit in aid of The Hospice of St Francis, my first thoughts were ones of dread.

"Initially, I was intrigued by the idea of being able to put mind over matter and not feel a thing as I stroll across the 20ft stretch of burning coals.
"But did I really have to go to these lengths to raise money? Surely a cake sale or sponsored walk would have been sufficient.
"It's the second year the hospice has run The Fire-walk, which will take place at the Watermill Hotel, Bourne End next Thursday evening (November, 22).
"Although I have images of catching fire or scalding my feet, I am assured the company arranging the event, Time 4 Change, has 20 years' experience and a 100 per cent safety record.
"So, apprehensively, after a training session I will hit the hot coals around 8.30pm."
