Adam Sims is managing to give back to the town he has lived in ail his life while working hard at his GCSEs.

Adam won the Rate Chiles Young Person's Award for his commitment to the town through his time with Chesham Youth Council.
There have been a lot of new members on the youth council and Adam, 16, has been mentoring them as vice chairman. He has also been involved in the council's study of the effects of alcohol on young people.

Adam, who lives in Hivings Park, said: "I didn't think I was going to win it because I think Tom (another nominee) has done more than me so I was really surprised.
"The youth council is a good place and there are a good bunch of people who work hard but have fun."

The Chesham Park pupil is just about to sit his GCSEs and hopes to return for the sixth form after the summer.

He chose to give his £150 prize money to the Hospice of St Francis in memory of his grandmother Yvonne Slipper who died in 2002.
