How you and your Company can help top of page

GE Healthcare

There is no better way you can demonstrate support for the people that live in your area than by supporting your local hospice. The Hospice helps over 2000 people a year, each of the patients the Hospice helps will be a mother or father, brother or sister, partner, friend, or colleague. Supporting at a time of crisis, the Hospice helps patients and their loved ones make the most of the time they have left together giving ‘total care when time is precious’.

Whether you can do just one event for us or partner us for a year or more, everything you do is important to us and we will recognise your support. Supporting the Hospice is great for staff morale and shows customers, suppliers and business associates you care.

There are many ways you can get involved and the Fundraising Team at the Hospice are here to help you make your fundraising count and to give support, ideas and advice.

Adopt the Hospice as your Charity of the Year? top of page

Adopting the Hospice as your charity of the year means that staff and their employer can work together to achieve something special.

Staff fundraising at work is fun and can be a rewarding way of building staff morale. Dress Down Days, Fun Days, Sporting Challenges, Raffles, Quiz Nights, Balls and Auctions are just some events that can be organised to raise money that will directly help patients and their families in the town where you live and work.

Staffs efforts can be matched by the Company then employees support will go even further.

Matched giving supports staffs commitment to a cause which is close to them and demonstrates shared corporate citizenship.

Giving volunteer time helps staff feel part of their local community, builds staff motivation, development and teamwork, as colleagues join forces to make a difference.

“Just to thank you for your hospitality yesterday. I had a fantastic time. I couldn't believe how quickly the day passed actually. It is only 11am now and I'm clock watching already, something I didn't do yesterday. The only way I knew it was around lunchtime was because my stomach was rumbling. I don't think I've ever slept so well as I did last night either.
Seriously though I want to thank you for giving me the opportunity to make a difference. At my company sometimes the tasks we do to keep the business going is enormous. The job may include many many people so my little bit, be it a data entry, a signature or just passing a form onto the next department so the next person can do their bit is just a small cog in a very large wheel so I question myself sometimes on how important and what value the small task I do is. I guess it is important because we see profits doing well but to see the value you have to look at the long-term which is a bit soul destroying at times.
But we spend one day in your lovely hospice and at the end of it we can see we have made that difference. The garden looked fantastic. The teamwork was second to none and hats off to our lovely leader Alison. She was so friendly and encouraging. A great role model. The ladies in the shop were also lovely and we even got to speak to some of the customers too.
I would like to come back and do some more if that is possible because I enjoyed the day so much”

Gift in kind from Campaign Connections
Many thanks to Tracey McKinnes and her team at Campaign Connections who as a gift to the hospice have been telecampaigning local companies on our behalf and asking them to buy bricks as part of the ‘Big Brick Buy’ campaign.

Epson – taking part in the ‘Big Brick Buy’
Thanks to Epson for taking part in the ‘Big Brick Buy’. Staff were invited to buy bricks at £5 each for the Hospice through a leaflet in their payslips. This was then matched by the Company – so the value of each brick was £10.
