Our Inpatient Unit has been specially designed to promote comfort, safety, dignity and privacy.
We have combined the feeling of a modern healthcare setting with the comfort of home.
Our Inpatient Unit offers 24 hour specialist care. Many patients come for short stays to improve difficult symptoms (such as pain, breathlessness, nausea or anxiety) and are able to return to their own home or, if necessary, to a nursing home. If patients are reaching the end of their life, then we can care for them at the Hospice for their final days. Our average stay is about 12 days but unfortunately we cannot offer long- term care.
Patients are referred for admission to our beds by their Healthcare Teams. This might be the District Nurse or GP, their palliative care nurse (e.g. St Francis, Macmillan, or Iain Rennie Grove House Nurse) or sometimes patients are referred directly from hospital.
We have ten single bedrooms and two double bedrooms, all opening onto our beautiful gardens
There are a range of facilities within the Inpatient Unit and you can read full details in our Patient Information Leaflet which is available from the Hospice.
