Team Don8te

On Saturday 21st June Jo Haggart, 36, from White Horse Lane, London Colney, will be putting on her lipstick, trainers and bright pink T-shirt. Together with four team mates and over 1100 other women, she will be taking part in the Hospice of St Francis "Walk with the Stars" Midnight Walk.

"Both of my parents attended St Francis Hospice during their illnesses and I was amazed at the care and support they were given" says Jo. "I will be forever grateful to the wonderful doctors and nurses who went out of their way to help our family. By taking part in this walk, I am able to give something back to the Hospice of St Francis by raising as much sponsorship money as possible." She continues, "I took part last year and it was an amazing night, all you could see was a sea of 800 pink ladies, it was so much fun, the atmosphere was electric. I work as a Personal Trainer at Cannons Heath Club and would urge all local women to join in, it's a great way to stay in shape or trim up for the summer".

Fran Martin, event organiser says, "The Hospice of St Francis care for people with life limiting or terminal illness in Herts and Bucks. This includes patients from St Albans, Harpenden and surrounding villages. So it is important that local people consider supporting our vital services. We work hard across the community trying to reach everyone who needs our help, whether that’s through our Day Hospice, or by visiting patients in their own homes with the support of our specialist Home Care Team, or in our In-patient Unit where we have just opened up our 11th bed".
