How does the Hospice help others to provide palliative care?

One of the ways that the Hospice helps others to provide palliative care is to educate them in the key ways and skills to look after patients and their families at the end of life. This may include anything from what drugs are helpful to how to talk to someone about sensitive subjects.

Who comes to the Hospice's education programme?

We provide sessions ranging from general practitioners, hospital doctors, to district nurses, nursing home staff and hospital nurses and staff. All are welcome and we provide our sessions in the Hospice or go out to local venues. We also have a very active internal education programme to ensure our staff are up to date in the care that they give.
