Where do complementary treatment therapies take place?

At the bedside if you are in our Inpatient Unit, in our special relaxing treatment room in Day Hospice, and we can also offer some treatments at home.

Do you charge for complementary therapies?

No charge is made for any of our Hospice treatments, but donations are always very welcome.

How can I access complementary therapies at St Francis?

At the moment we take referrals from any member of the Hospice Team – this might include the ward, or a member of your Day Hospice team or your St Francis Specialist Nurse.

Will I be eligible for complementary therapies?

All patients are eligible for referral and we are now also offering a limited service to carers of our patients.  We can discuss this with you.

Can complementary therapies help my particular problem?

Complementary treatments are unlikely to be harmful and we believe they can positively help a range of problems in serious illness.  This might include breathing difficulties, pain, anxiety, loss of confidence and insomnia.
