Great North Run 2012

16 Sep 2012

Newcastle to South Shields

Great North Run 2012
Here’s your chance to be part of the world's biggest and most iconic half marathon in the year the Olympics comes to London. Don’t miss out - we have just 5 guaranteed places up for grabs!

Certainly no longer the ‘local fun run’ it was marketed as when it started in 1981, the Great North Run is now Britain’s biggest running event, attracting an incredible 54,000 runners in 2011!

The 13.1 mile route runs from Newcastle to South Shields and is lined with plenty of entertainment to help motivate the runners.

You’ll pass 15 official Bupa Great North Run "Bands on the Run", as well as the Bupa Boost Zone - a wall of sound designed to give an extra push at around mile 10. Just imagine the exhilarating feeling of being spurred on by the booming music and cheering crowds!

We’ll be here to support you every step of the way with your fundraising and will offer you a Hospice t-shirt to train and/or fundraise in and an exclusive personalised Hospice running vest to wear with pride on the day.

Ready to register? A registration fee of £40 will secure your place, and the minimum fundraising amount is £500. To sign up email fundraising@stfrancis.org.uk or call 01442 869555 and we'll post you a form.
