Total care when time is precious

Giving in memory

At one of the most difficult times in our lives - the loss of someone we love - more and more people are choosing to support the Hospice and it is a privilege for us to receive such special support.

Most In Memory donations are made in memory of someone for whom our nurses have cared, but we also receive many donations in memory of people who have not received care from us.

There are many ways to honour your loved one’s memory and support The Hospice of St Francis at the same time:

Whichever way you choose to honour your special someone, we are here to help.

In memoriam donations

Some people choose to hold a collection in memory of their loved one at their funeral.

We can provide you with special In Memory envelopes that you can make available to those attending, making it easier to collect donations.  The envelopes allow people to provide their details, so that they can receive an acknowledgement of our thanks, and so that we can increase the value of their donation through Gift Aid.

There is also the option of downloading the In memory donation form on the right.

Requesting donations in lieu of flowers at a funeralMany people decide to ask for donations to the Hospice in lieu of sending flowers for a funeral.

Family and friends can either send donations directly to us, marked with the name of the person they are remembering on any correspondence, or to your funeral director who will usually be happy to co-ordinate this for you and forward donations to us.

We will acknowledge all donations and inform you of the total amount collected.  If you would like any further information, please just call us on 01442 869555.

Setting up a tribute fundPersonalised Remembrance pages can be created online at Just Giving, using the link on the right.

These can include a photograph and a tribute to the person who has died, providing your friends and family with a lovely, simple way to pay tribute and to make a difference to those families we are caring for throughout the year.

If you require any help or advice about doing this, please contact the fundraising department using the link on the right.

Dedicating a light for our annual Light up a Life appeal

Every December, a tree within the Hospice grounds is covered with lights, each one dedicated by a family member or friend, in memory of someone who has died. We also hold a ceremony, usually on the first weekend of December, to remember those close to us who have died. If you would like to receive information about Light up a Life, please contact the Fundraising team.
