External regulation
We are an independent hospice, outside the NHS, and are therefore regulated by the Healthcare Commission and inspected on a regular basis. Each year we have to complete a rigorous and complex Self Assessment – this is completed by our Senior Nursing Team and
available for you to see.
We also conduct extensive patient and carer surveys of our service following an episode of care in the Hospice or in the community.

Internal regulation
We have a Clinical Governance Group whose role is to ensure that our care is safe, up-to-date and appropriate.
This group consists of senior clinical staff and members of our Trustee Board and receives reports of audits, service developments and any clinical issues that are causing concern.
We have a separate Health and Safety group looking at issues that concern patient care, our staff and our volunteers.
