Hospice and palliative care concentrates on the person, their past, present and future, as well as their symptoms. We recognise that, in addition to patients, those close to them are deeply affected by illness and distress.
We listen to what is important to every patient, their family and friends, what really matters when time is precious.
Our team consists of highly trained doctors and nurses and a range of other professionals including our supportive care team, chaplain, complementary therapists, physiotherapists, our arts team and catering team. Everyone works together with a huge band of volunteers to ensure the best experience possible for patients and those close to them.
We care for patients with a wide range of life threatening illnesses – heart disease, lung disease, neurological illness and cancer.
Care is given in our Inpatient Unit, Day Hospice and Outpatient clinics.
Our care is also available beyond the Hospice building, in the home, in local hospitals and nursing homes.
Our catchment area extends from Amersham, Chesham and the Chalfonts to Tring, Berkhamsted, Hemel Hempstead, St Albans, Harpenden and surrounding villages.
