Stephanie, 3 peaks challenge, nurses
Cholesbury girl, Stephanie Green, is donning her walking boots in her courageous bid to conquer the Three Peaks Challenge. 17 year old Stephanie is taking to the hills with school friend Georgina Hill, also 17, with the girls' fathers and a back-up driver accompanying the young pair on their trek for moral support.

Three Peak Challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks in the British Isles within a 24 hour period and given the advised 14 hours walking times and 10 hours driving, this is no mean feat! The pair will be climbing the hills on Sat/Sun 10th/11th July- Stephanie is walking for the Hospice, whilst Georgina is walking for The Autism Trust.

The girls will first be climbing Ben Nevis, the highest peak and longest distance, followed by an overnight drive to Scafell Pike. If successful, they will complete their final descent of Snowdon by 5pm on Saturday 11th.

Preparation and planning have been completed alongside revision for their AS exams which have just finished! They have been training hard in their school gym at least twice a week and have undertaken 20-mile walks in their spare time.

I first heard of the Three Peaks Challenge in a school assembly. I wanted to do something to challenge myself as well as raising money for a very important charity in our local area. I've been on a tour of the Hospice and the facilities they offer for both day and residential patients are amazing. As the Hospice relies on funds raised by the public for over 80% of their income I have a real incentive to complete the walk.Stephanie
