We offer a warm welcome to the requests that we have for clinical practice placement or visits to the Hospice. Our main types of placements are:
- Rapid Access to Palliative Care Training (RAPT) a 2-day placement for Foundation Year Two and One Doctors, General Practitioner Registrars or any medical colleagues wanting an intense medical practice placement
- Student nurses from the University of Hertfordshire as part of their nurse training
- Staff undertaking academic or professional qualifications, with a specialist interest in palliative care and those wanting to experience hospice care
- Those twinned with us, and those wanting to experience hospice palliative care working
Pre-placement learning objectives and post placement learning objectives evaluation are required.
We are a charitable organisation and currently our placements and visits are provided free of charge – however donations to the Hospice of St Francis are welcome in order to continue our vision of ‘total care when time is precious’.
