If you are caring for a patient or if you are a patient at home alone that might benefit from a visit from one of our skilled volunteers. The visits are free, confidential and tailored to suit specific needs.
The volunteer will offer time out for the carer, for example:
- to go shopping
- visit the hairdressers
- go for a walk
- read a book
- or to catch up on some sleep
For the patient this could provide an opportunity to spend time with someone from outside their family or friends' network.
They may wish to:
- talk about difficult issues
- share a TV programme or book
- play cards, dominoes, scrabble
- or just sit quietly knowing that someone is there for them
