The Social worker and her assistant can offer help and advice to individuals, carers and family members, this support includes:
- arranging Carers Assessments which can lead to financial assistance with practical help in the home or a break from the caring role
- organising specialist equipment that can make caring for someone at home easier
- respite care
- personal care assistance in the home for the person who is unwell
- Welfare and Benefit advice. If you are ill or caring for someone who has a serious illness it is important you get everything you are entitled to. We can advise people on the main benefits available, how to make a claim, planning for the future and where to go for further information
- general advice and information on issues such as; transport, accommodation, employment, grants and carers rights
